A 24’x36’ tall-posted frame with a 20’ breezeway connector for a Lincolnville studio. A north facing shed dormer floods the upstairs with indirect light leaving the south-facing roof open for a solar array powering the studio and attached net-zero house.
Crooked white ash with pine timber sourced from the property, salvaged from a severe blowdown event. A steel I-beam creates a clear span for the woodworking studio downstairs, with an I-beam trolley and chain hoist for easy loading and unloading of heavy cargo. Salvaged cast iron architectural brackets tie the steelwork to the timber frame. The breezeway and entry feature cedar logs left in the round. Entry frame is charred for beauty and decay resistance.
